Pinky and… My Brain?

Filed under :About Me, Personality Quizzes
Right Brain/Left Brain Quiz
The higher of these two numbers below indicates which side of your brain has dominance in your life. Realizing your right brain/left brain tendency will help you to interact with and understand others.
Left Brain Dominance: 16(16)
Right Brain Dominance: 16(16)
Right Brain/ Left Brain Quiz

This reminds me of the time I took the Advocates Political Quiz and wound up with “Centrist”.

On a semi-related topic… I’ve seen the cartoon “Pinky and the Brain” a time or two, and I’ve noticed that my neighbor (across the way) bears a striking resemblance to Brain. I’m not kidding. The top half of his head is HUGE, but his jaw and chin seem exceptionally tiny. I hardly ever catch sight of him, but when I do I can’t help but stare. And giggle. Quietly, of course. I wouldn’t want to offend the man who might one day take over the world.

I’m sort of fascinated by him too. I mean, how does he manage to walk without tipping over? His neck muscles must be incredibly strong.

I said “Hello” to him once. He nodded back. And while I was utterly mesmerized by the movement, in the back of my mind a little voice whispered excitedly…

OMGawd! The Brain lives next door and he just acknowledged me! How totally awesome is that?!

That made my day. Heck. I think it made my week.

So. What side of the Brain do you use most?

Are you a middle-brained Brain-loving freak like me? *grins*

Procrastination Keeps Groceries At Bay

Filed under :About Me, Personality Quizzes

I got up about two hours ago with the intent of jumping in the shower, getting dressed (of course!), and then going to the grocery store. But it hasn’t happened yet.

I checked RPoL, then checked out a friend’s MySpace page. She had a bunch of Blogthings quiz results on her page, so of course I had to take all of the quizzes too. This is how procrastination works, you see. Then, I thought I’d post them on my blog because I didn’t have anything to say. But then I saw Mr. Dyckerson’s comment about my blog being done, so I took a little sidetrip to Dungland. And now I’m back. ALL the worse for wear.

Anybody got any Rolaids? Tums? Draino?

My family has been complaining that we don’t have any food. It’s true… sort of. If you don’t count the Hot Pockets, Bagels, PB&J, Lunchmeat, Cheese, Olives, Milk, Eggs, Heineken, Jello Pudding, Left Over Pizza, and Jalepenos as food. There’s stuff in the pantry too… LOTS of stuff. But I’m told we have no food and I must go grocery shopping. I hate shopping. Really, really, really… much. There’s people out there, you know. With carts. And hips that lie.

*Le Sigh*

Personally, as long as there’s Heineken in the fridge, 100% whole wheat bread, and peanut butter, I’m good to go.

But, enough with the procrastination. I have a family to feed. I must brave the grocery aisles, taking ankles by storm.

Whatever that means.

My brain is in a very strange place today. I’m going to blame it on Mr. Dyckerson. He’s good for that sort of thing.

On that note…

Stacy Was An Eagle

Stacy is able to rise above the details of life and see the big picture.
A spiritual being, she tends to go beyond material concerns. (…like groceries)

Stacy Has A Sexual Hidden Talent
(Wow. What a big-arse font they used for this quiz.)

Stacy has a sexual hidden talent. She might not look it, but she’s a dynamo in bed. Most of her lovers think that it is from years of practice, but really, she was just born with it.

Take this quiz at QuizGalaxy.com

(I swear, as Beelzebub is my witness, I only changed the pronouns on that one. I AM a dynamo! :D )

Stacy is a Dreaming Soul

Stacy’s vivid emotions and imagination takes her away from this world,
so much so that she tends to live in her head most of the time.
(Hey… I resemble that remark.)

She has great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all…
But for her, following through with her dreams is a bit difficult.

But all is not lost…

She is charming, endearing, and people tend to love her.
(Yay, me!)
Forgiving and tolerant, she sees the world through rose colored glasses.
(IS there any other color? …Don’t answer that.)
Underneath it all, she has a ton of passion that she hides from others.
(See, told you so.)
Always hopeful, she tends to expect positive outcomes in her life.

Souls she is most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

(Now that you know all of my secrets, I’m going to have to close my eyes and make you disappear. But don’t worry… It won’t hurt. I promise. :) )

Stacy is Storm
(No. Really. She is!)

Exotic and powerful, Stacy-Storm descended from a line of African priestesses.
Emotions can effect her powers, but she is generally serene.
(Serene? Ha! Fooled you.)

Powers: controlling weather, creating winds that lift you into flight, generating lightning

(Maybe I’ll conjure up a hurricane and then I won’t have to go shopping.)

I’m A Spitfire Monk!

Filed under :About Me, Journal, Personality Quizzes

I finally put up my Christmas tree. I even have wrapped presents beneath it. *gasp!* I think I’m getting the hang of this festive thing. Either that, or I’m really good at pretending.

But, Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone that.

This morning started off with a rather lovely dose of couple-calisthenics, after which I promptly fell back asleep with a smile on my face. However, when I woke a few hours later the day took a horrible turn for the worse. Cramps. Horrible, spreading clean through to my back, female cramps. Ugh. Bah! Crud buckets! Where’s the Ibuprofen!!!

And ya wanna know something funny? Or perhaps I should say ‘ironic’. After four years of procrastinating, I had finally made an appointment for that yearly check up we women are supposed to have. That appointment was for today and I had to reschedule. Ergh.

So… TMI?

In other not so banal news… I have to go grocery shopping today. Oh, wait, that is incredibly boring. My bad. How about some in-depth and incredibly insightful personality tests to excite you? They’re all about me (and my trusty sidekick). How much more exciting can you get than that? (Uh, no need to actually answer that question. Really. Don’t. It’s okay. I don’t mind.)

Feel free to post your own results in comments, ‘cuz my inquisitive mind wants to know.

First up: The Classic Dames

Stacy’s Score: Barbara Stanwyck
Stacy scored 33% grit, 33% wit, 38% flair, and 16% class!

You’re a tough dame, a bit of a spitfire, and you can even be a little dangerous, but you do it with such flair that almost all is forgiven (and even when it’s not, you’re still the most interesting woman in the room). You can be witty and charming, all right, but you have a tough streak that keeps you focused and sometimes deadly. You’ve had quite a climb to get where you are, but you’re a hard worker and you mostly deserve all you get…and then some. You might end up destroying everything around you, but you must admit…you’ve got style. Your leading men include Henry Fonda, Fred MacMurray, and when you forget yourself, Gary Cooper.

Find out what kind of classic leading man you’d make by taking the Classic Leading Man Test.

Classic Leading Man: (Bob’s results)

Bob got ‘Clark Gable’ for this one, but he forgot to give me the html coding to paste his results. So, I’ll just retype them without all the fancy coding here:

BOB’ Score: Clark Gable
Bob scored 33% Tough, 23% Roguish, 9% Friendly, and 33% Charming!

You’re a helluva guy, a real split personality and a bit of an enigma. On the one hand, you’re a man’s man, tough talking and ready for anything. But on the other hand, you soften your rough and tumble core with a disarmingly smooth exterior, and you make the ladies swoon. You’re equally admired by both men and women alike, drinking other men under the table all the while charming the socks off half a dozen lovelies. You’re a commanding presence, and you know how to get what – and who – you want when you want it. You’re drawn to women who, like you, are savvy enough to deal with the world on their own terms. You work well with spitfires. Leading ladies include Joan Crawford, Myrna Loy, and Jean Harlow. No damsels in distress for you.

The RPG Class Test:

STACY’S Score: Monk
51% Combativeness, 53% Sneakiness, 76% Intellect, 52% Spirituality

Pretty much good at everything: You are a Monk!
No, not a monk like those bald medieval guys. The Monk in D&D is a martial artist. They’re smart, they’re capable, they’re spiritual, they’re sneaky when they want to be, and they’re damn dangerous in a fight.
What to say? You scored high on all four categories, which means that you’re probably a well rounded and capable person. Either that or you’re an overly smart and dangerous psychopath.

Link: The RPG Class Test written by MFlowers on OkCupid, home of the The Dating Persona Test

BOB’S Score: Smart Paladin
55% Combativeness, 50% Sneakiness, 70% Intellect, 63% Spirituality

Valorous! Noble! Or possibly just a self-righteous jerk (but with the brains to keep you alive!)… You are a Smart Paladin!
Paladins are holy warriors. They are valorous defenders of the light. Unfortunately, most of them are so ardent in their defense they tend to meet sticky ends faster than you can say “rampaging red dragon.” Many people look up to Paladins, while others just consider them stuck up, overbearing, or self-righteous.
Fortunately for you, unlike most Paladins, you’re pretty smart. Which means that you’re more likely to fall into the “admired” category, rather than the “obnoxious” or “dead” categories.
Much like the crusades, you manage to combine violence and religion, though unlike the crusades, you add a healthy does of intelligence. You may be a staunch defender of the faith, a valorous champion of the weak, or the stuff that jihads are made of. Which ever one you are, just be happy that you?ve got the smarts to back it up and make it work.

Well, wasn’t that fun!

I’m A Daydream Believer…

Filed under :About Me, Journal, Personality Quizzes

I’ve got the day all to myself today. No kids. No hubby. Just me and my dog. Ahhh! It’s so peaceful…

So, I think I’ll get a bit of writing done on my book while I listen to some tunes. But before I tune out the real world, I thought I’d toss a Blogthings quiz your way. What fun, eh. ;)

Enjoy the weekend, folks!

I went to the movies last night…

Filed under :About Me, Personality Quizzes

…and ordered a tub of butter.

Seriously. That’s what I said. It was unintentional, mind you, allowing my subconscious to speak like that. But the funny thing is, the kid behind the counter didn’t blink an eye at my request. Nope. He seemed to know exactly what I wanted.

Popcorn.

‘Cept, when I dug in, it sure as heck tasted like I was eating a tub full of butter.

Ugh. No wonder I got horribly sick last night and still feel horribly nauseous today. Does eating a tub of butter cause fevers too? Bah.

Yesterday wasn’t all bad, though. The movie was entertaining (The Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer). Also, I got Tickled and it was rather enlightening. I discovered all sorts of things about myself while being tickled. Here, let me show you (…dont’ worry, this isn’t going to hurt).

Take this test at Tickle

Stacy’s an Honesty!

What’s Behind Your Emotions?
Brought to you by Tickle

Stacy, your emotions are triggered by your underlying belief in Honesty

In other words, your commitment to leading an honest life, and your belief in the truth, directly affect how, and how often, you experience certain feelings.

For example, your test results indicate that you’re most fulfilled when you can share all your thoughts and feelings — good or bad. That factor is directly related to your fundamental belief in honesty and the range of emotions it triggers.

I also discovered that my ‘true color’ is brown. At first I thought, –’Ugh. What a truly boring color’–, but then I read on and decided that I liked being brown. Hey. It worked for Charlie. (Not sure that was quite the back-up I was going for, but, oh… ‘good grief!’ Have at it, Mr. Dyckerson.)

Take this test at Tickle

Stacy’s true color is Brown!

What’s Your True Color?
Brought to you by Tickle

Stacy, your true color is Brown! You’re brown, a credible, stable color that’s reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you’re a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you’re probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you’re constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it’s by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart.

Isn’t this fun? It’s keeping you occupied while I hold my belly and moan and groan. You’ve completely forgotten how utterly miserable I am. Why, I bet you didn’t even notice that I was flopped over the porcelain retching the non-existent contents in my guts. Lucky you. See how rewarding a good Tickle can be? [heh] Here, let me distract you a bit more…

Take this test at Tickle

Stacy follows her heart when it comes to success

Do You Follow Your Heart or Your Head?
Brought to you by Tickle

Stacy, you follow your heart when it comes to success You’re an impassioned individual who just can’t suppress your ideals. You’ve got a strong sense of right and wrong, and want to let people know when they’ve crossed the line. Sure, there are times when you sit back to hear both sides of an argument. But people had better stay out of the way when your fiery passions take hold.

But just because you can be a bit of a rebel with a cause, it doesn’t mean you’re incapable of being understanding and compassionate. It’s because you’re so invested in your ideas and interests that you can work so tirelessly toward your goals and speak up for what you believe in. So keep pouring your heart into it. With conviction like yours, you’re sure to succeed!

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got today.

Now beat it, before I hurl…

A Bit of Humour…

Filed under :About Me, Humor, Journal, Kids, Personality Quizzes

LOL!

A few days ago Bob and I took the kids shopping with us. Bob and Jon went to peruse the hardware section. They needed to get some wood stain and such for a project they were working on. CJ went to the sports section of the store, while Erin and Manda made their way to grocery aisles ahead of me.

Manda has been shopping for and cooking up her own meals lately. She’s only twelve, but she has insisted upon doing this as a learning experience. Hey, she’s spending her chore money to buy her own food, so I’m cool with that. [smile] Actually, I’m rather proud of her.

Anyway, that left Gloria and me to do the grocery shopping for the family. Gloria asked if she could ride on the back of the cart and I agreed as long as she kept a hold of the handle. So, I grabbed the front of the cart and pulled her along. As we approached the end of an aisle, we cruised past one of the frozen meat sections and Gloria said:

“Stacy, what is that kind of poultry that likes to tease people?”

Perplexed, I pondered that question for all of three seconds before I said, “I’m not certain I understand your question, Gloria. A chicken that likes to tease people? Hmmm… I dunno.”

“Oh! I know what it is,” Gloria suddenly exclaimed, “It’s a Poultrygeist!”

I laughed. I just couldn’t help it. I didn’t care how many onlookers thought I had lost my marbles. That was funny!

I love that girl! 9 year olds are so much fun.

10. (a) 4 (b) 2 ( c) 3 (d) 5 (e) 6 (f) 1

Now add up the total number of points.

OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should handle with care. You’re seen as vain, self-centered, and as one who is extremely dominant. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don’t always trust you. Often, others hesitate to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader who’s quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who’s constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who’ll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful and practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who’s extremely loyal to the friends you do make, and one who expects the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally, that it takes you a long time to get over a trust that has been broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful; a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive; someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions, and who doesn’t want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don’t exist. Some people think you’re boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren’t.

Here’s Something For Mother’s Day:

  • You hide in the bathroom to be alone.
  • You can’t ever go to the bathroom without being interrupted by a child knocking at the door.
  • Your child throws up and you catch it.
  • Someone else’s kid throws up at a party and you keep eating.
  • You consider finger paint to be a controlled substance.
  • You mastered the art of placing food on a plate without anything touching.
  • You hope ketchup is a vegetable because it’s the only one your child eats.

Hope You All Have A Great Weekend!

Where do you stand?

Filed under :About Me, Personality Quizzes

I normally avoid any mention of politics on my blog, but my Aunt Joan sent me a link to this quiz via email. Since it only required that I answer 10 questions, I figured ‘what the heck’. Besides, I thought it would be fun to see if the quiz got it correct. Seems as though it did. :)

After answering just 10 questions, it instantly told me where I stand politically. An interesting fact about this Quiz is that it goes beyond Democrat, Republican, and Independent.

Quotes:

–The Washington Post
“…gained respect as a valid measure of a person’s political leanings.”

–The Fraser Institute
“…it’s a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person’s overall political views.”

–Suite University
“…the most concise and accurate political quiz out there.”

According to my answers, the political description that fits me best is…

CENTRIST

Centrists espouse a “middle ground” regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose “political extremes,” and emphasize what they describe as “practical” solutions to problems.

Centrists.Org describes a Centrist as:

Centrists are ideologically flexible. Centrists recognize the complexity of public policy choices and look to many kinds of solutions. Which solution depends on the circumstances, the problem, and the public interest. Ideologues repeat their slogans with little regard to the specific policy problem at hand. Conservatives shout “private good, public bad.” Liberals shout “public good, private bad.” By contrast, the centrist movement can show politicians how to use both the private and public sectors (often in combination) to creatively solve problems that we would otherwise just shout about.

My Boobies Have Names, Thanks To Skittles

Filed under :About Me, Personality Quizzes

Yesterday, as I was surfing Wordless Wednesday posts, I ran across a “Boobie Name Generator” on Skittles’ blog.

Hey!, I thought, why should men have all the fun? We can name our body parts too! So I did. :D

Stacy’s Boobies’ Names Are…

Blouse Bunnies

Shortly thereafter, me and my Blouse Bunnies tripped over some boxes in my bedroom. (Those bunnies must have thrown me off balance again.) I fell towards the floor and landed on another pile of junk in my bedroom, but my right wrist caught the main brunt of the fall.

Ouch! That hurt like a… well, it hurt. It’s still rather sore today, so I think I’ll go take some more ibuprofen and quit typing now…
