I’ve had chai (iced) and loved it, and I’ve had Green Tea; now for the dumb question is chai always green tea? Is it 2 different things?

I know green tea is suppose to be healthy for our immunity, and I find iced chai very refreshing; but at the little shop where I get it, rather pricey.

Hi Sandy,

No question is a dumb one if you don’t know the answer. And actually, I wondered the same thing until I went back and browsed the tea aisle in my local grocery store. From what I can tell, ‘chai’ is synonymous with ‘spice’ and they use it in several different teas (not just green tea). I saw an Indian Chai Black tea that I thought I might try.

I like very much a cup of green tea, but i can’t say that i prefer a brand. I usually get “pure” tea from a Chinese shop, and although it has a stronger taste it has the same effect as a good cup of coffee

‘Pure’ tea sounds good too. I’ll have to try some, though I’ll need to buy a tea leaf spoon (infuser) first .

My wife absolutely loves Chai tea from Tim Horton’s. We have not tried the Stash brand. Not sure if it is available here in Canada. Must have a look next time we are at the grocery store.
